Integrity is one of the five core values embedded in the DNA of The Sparrow’s Nest. Demonstrating integrity means the choices we make serve no personal gain for us. Our actions and decisions are not based on fortune or fame but doing the right thing no matter what the situation or environment. When I think of the word integrity I think of a figure of solidarity that moves in confidence not in a wishy washy manner depending on which way the wind is blowing. Overused but true, we strive to not only walk the walk but talk the talk.

However, this value is not just for our leadership team our paid or volunteer staff. This is a core value we want to continue to grow in our residents. I want our girls to be looked upon as woman of integrity. I want the world to view them as honest and trustworthy. That they have the courage to do what they say they are going to do and be who they say they are going to be. I want the world to see that if we supply every single Christmas present, or every single birthday present, or every meal, or every anything we rob a young woman of walking through life as a woman of integrity. If we supply every little need or want we rob her of the change to exhibit those strong qualities of loyalty to her little family, to keep her promise of providing for her little family, of teaching her to walk upright in confidence.

Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.
